Coro Kiwi finds his wings

Coro the Kiwi couldn’t wait to try out our new custom-designed Pump Track, in fact he thought he was flying!
Fun for all ages and abilities, this Velosolutions pump track is a loop with undulating rollers and berms designed to be ridden without pedaling. To ride, you use a pumping motion, pulling up on the face of the rollers and pushing down with your legs on the downside. It can be used with any bike from mountain bikes to bmxs, even kick trikes and skateboards.

No scooters or bikes with pegs are allowed as these can damage the surface of the track. Considerable effort has gone into building this track for many future generations, please respect this and continue to educate anyone who may not be aware of this.

Have fun and always wear a helmet - for your safety. Parents might want to get elbow and knee pads for Christmas presents!

Were aiming to have the car park completed by 1st of December and the pump track ready to ride.

The second stage consists of descent trails built by Trail Pro and is designed to improve bike skills with jumps, flow lines, and berms and is about to start construction - this will be next to the pump track and will require lots more building to be done.

Huge thanks to all the local contractors and the muscle employed from Kennedy Bay, Colville, Coromandel and Little Bay to move 18 000 tonnes of fill, and over 2000 wheelbarrow loads of asphalt to form the Pump Track alone. Also to the supporters and funders who have enabled such a fantastic community asset to be built.
